Next 10 is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that works at the nexus of the economy, the environment and quality of life issues to educate the public and equip policymakers with the tools and data they need to implement comprehensive, effective solutions to the most pressing issues of the day. Our work focuses on three program areas: Clean Energy, Economy & Governance, and Budget. Through education and civic engagement, we hope Californians will become more empowered to affect change. Next 10 was founded and is funded by F. Noel Perry, businessman, social entrepreneur, and philanthropist.

Next 10 created the California Budget Challenge in 2005 to educate citizens about the state budget and the tradeoffs that are made to bring the budget into balance. The Challenge software is also available to be licensed by cities and nonprofits. Learn more at http://next10.org/license.

In addition to the online tool, Next 10 travels the state conducting highly interactive presentations using the California Budget Challenge -- allowing participants to vote on policy options that affect the budget in real-time with instant-response clickers.
